motorPoles Number of motor poles pmotor motor 2, 4, 6, 8, 10, 12, 2/4, 4/8
The Number of Motor Poles refers to the number of pairs of magnetic poles in the rotor or stator of an electric motor. The number of motor poles directly affects the rotational speed and operational characteristics of the motor. Motors can have different winding configurations, such as 2 poles or 4 poles, which allows for a change in rotational speed. The number of poles is determined during the motor design and is based on the construction of the electromagnetic system. The poles are identified by analyzing the winding configuration in the stator or rotor, or they are specified in the motor's technical documentation. The number of poles affects the synchronous speed of the motor, which depends on the supply frequency. Motors with fewer poles achieve higher speeds, while motors with more poles rotate slower but with higher torque. Some motors can be designed with two sets of windings, such as 2/4 poles, allowing operation at two different speeds. The number of poles is fixed during the design stage and cannot be changed during operation. It determines the maximum synchronous speed of the motor and influences the size, cost, and suitable applications of the motor. A 4-pole motor, powered by alternating current with a frequency of 50 Hz, has a synchronous speed of about 1500 RPM. A 2/4-pole motor can switch between speeds of 3000 RPM (2 poles) and 1500 RPM (4 poles), which is useful in applications requiring variable speed, such as fans with adjustable output.

Motor Starting Method refers to the way an electric motor is initiated, which affects its performance, torque, and starting current. Motor starting methods include: Direct-On-Line Starting (DOL): The motor is directly connected to the power supply, resulting in high torque and high starting current. This is the simplest and cheapest method, mainly used for small motors. Star-Delta Starting (Y-Δ): The motor initially operates in a star configuration, which reduces the voltage and starting current. It then switches to the delta configuration, allowing for full voltage and torque. This method reduces the load on the power grid during startup. Autotransformer Starting (ATS): Reduces the voltage during startup and then gradually increases it to full voltage. This method reduces the starting current and is used in large motors. Resistance Starting (RRS): Resistors are connected into the supply circuit during startup, which limits the starting current. The resistors are gradually removed as the motor reaches full speed. Mainly used in wound-rotor induction motors. Variable Frequency Drive Starting (VFD): Allows for smooth ramping of voltage and frequency, which controls the motor speed and torque. It provides a soft start and minimizes the starting current, used in modern high-efficiency systems. Example: The selection of the appropriate starting method depends on the application requirements, available resources, and specific operating conditions. For large industrial motors, star-delta or VFD starting may be more suitable due to reduced starting current and gentle start.

windingConnection Winding connection Wmotor motor , 1~, Y, Δ, Δ/Y, Y/Δ
Winding Connection refers to the way electric motor windings are connected, which influences its electrical properties and performance. There are two main types of winding connections: star (Y) and delta (Δ). Star (Y): In a star connection, the ends of the windings are joined at a single point, creating a neutral point, and the other ends are connected to the power supply. This type of connection lowers the voltage across each winding, which reduces the starting current. This is advantageous for starting high-power motors. Delta (Δ): In a delta connection, the windings are connected in a closed circuit, forming a triangle. Each winding is connected across two supply phases. This connection allows for the full utilization of the supply voltage and provides higher torque and greater motor power. Significance: Choosing the appropriate winding connection affects the motor's operating characteristics, including its voltage, current, and torque. The star connection is often used during starting, and the delta connection during normal operation. Example: A three-phase motor may be designed to operate in a star-delta configuration, where starting occurs in the star connection (lower voltage and current), and after reaching the appropriate speed, it switches to the delta connection (full voltage and higher torque). Knowledge of the winding connection type is crucial during the installation and maintenance of electric motors to ensure their optimal performance and operational safety.

pressureStaticMax Maximum static pressure pstatic, max Pa hydrodynamic 1 0 – 100 000
Maximum static pressure is the highest pressure a fan can generate, measured without considering airflow. Maximum static pressure is the highest pressure a fan can generate when operating in a closed system (at zero airflow). It is an indicator of the fan's ability to overcome resistance in the system, such as ducts, filters, and other installation elements. Static pressure is typically measured under laboratory conditions when the fan's outlet is completely closed, simulating no airflow. It is measured using manometers or other pressure sensors.
